Lunch at Terrain

Yesterday the buying, planning, and product development interns from all 5 brands were invited to a guided visit of the Distribution Center, lunch at Terrain, and an ice-cream chat with Wendy McDevitt. As a buying intern it was a wonderful experience to tour the DC, make sense of the operations from that aspect of the company, and visually understand how communication is crucial between the two. Following this visit, we headed to Terrain for a delicious luncheon, tour of the property and of course some shopping!

On our way back to home office, we met up with Wendy McDevitt president of Terrain. Listening to her speak, was one of the most inspiring moments I have had since attending this internship (which is hard to believe since every day is more inspiring than the last). We chatted about her journey with the company, and the future growth of URBN. This is a day I will never forget, and I am so glad I was able to spend it in such great company!

It finally has kicked in that my time at Free People's home office is nearing the end. It's crazy to think that I am we'll into my 6th week here and only have 3 and a half weeks left!! I wish I could stay here forever, leave my LA life behind and continue on this amazing adventure, but unfortunately I have to go back to my normal routine. Luckily there are so many things to look forward to in the future, including the next few days which will consist of a trip tomorrow to Terrain one of the other companies owned by URBN, the company Summer Party on Thursday, and a extra special luncheon with my fellow interns at creator and CEO Dick Hayne's home! Can't wait for what's ahead, and enjoy each precious second.
