Yesterday the buying, planning, and product development interns from all 5
brands were invited to a guided visit of the Distribution Center, lunch at
Terrain, and an ice-cream chat with Wendy McDevitt. As a buying intern it was a
wonderful experience to tour the DC, make sense of the operations from that
aspect of the company, and visually understand how communication is crucial
between the two. Following this visit, we headed to Terrain for a delicious
luncheon, tour of the property and of course some shopping!
On our way back to home office, we met up with Wendy McDevitt president of
Terrain. Listening to her speak, was one of the most inspiring moments I have
had since attending this internship (which is hard to believe since every day is
more inspiring than the last). We chatted about her journey with the company,
and the future growth of URBN. This is a day I will never forget, and I am so
glad I was able to spend it in such great company!
